Brazil: Jesus, Firmino, teammates prepare in Moscow for upcoming friendlies

Brazil will play preparatory games against Russia and Germany.

Brazilian stars Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus and others have begun preparations in Moscow for their upcoming friendlies.

The Brazilian stars are in Moscow to prepare for their first preparatory match of the year against 2018 FIFA World Cup hosts Russia on Friday, March 23.

Five Premier League players were called up to the national team, which include Manchester City trio of Jesus, Fernandinho and Ederson Moraes, Liverpool‘s Firmino and Chelsea’s Willain.

The Brazilian Football Association posted a video of the players as they welcomed each other on their official Instagram account.

 

With star player Neymar injured, Jesus, Firmino and Barcelona’s Coutinho are expected to lead the attack for Brazil against Russia.

After a disastrous defeat in the semi-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, a smooth qualification series has seen Brazil included among the favourites to lift the trophy in Russia.

 

Brazil who have won the World Cup five times are using the game against Russia get familiar with the host nation ahead of the tournament in June.

Brazil were previously held to a draw by England in their last international friendly match.

Coutinho and his teammates will have a chance to avenge their semi-final defeat on home soil in 2014.

After the game against Russia, Brazil will face Germany on Tuesday, March 27.
